The WIT SMME Awards is the Innovator Trust’s flagship celebration of women entrepreneurs in tech, a one-of-a-kind event that recognizes and rewards female-led, tech-based sustainable and scalable SMMEs in South Africa.
With a focus on Women in Technology, the WIT SMME Awards encompasses a variety of themes related to empowering ICT-focused entrepreneurship among African women, including Entrepreneurship, Youth, Technology & Innovation, and Women.
SMME Nominee and Top Achievers are recognized across a number of categories at the Innovator Trust Women in Tech SMME Awards. The categories take into account overall performance, the highest percentage growth, as well as revenue turnover.
The WIT SMME awards also acknowledge women-owned tech businesses that’ve done exceptionally well in terms of their job creation efforts and highlight the efforts of Youth beneficiaries on the Youth Entrepreneurship Programme.
This year’s Innovator Trust Women in Tech SMME Awards theme, “Code It. Shape It. Scale It.” presents a bold call to action to women tech SMMEs to lead the future of tech and innovation, owning their space in an ever changing, increasingly digital and AI-driven business environment.
