The Innovator Trust produces first graduates

The Innovator Trust announced today the graduation of Phillipine Kambula and Maria Matoa from its academic programme for SMMEs. During the graduation, which is taking place at Gordon Institute of Business Science the beneficiaries and other guests will be addressed by David Nightingale, the PMD Alumni. The Innovator Trust Inaugural Academic Programme was launched in June 2015 with 3 beneficiaries enrolled as part of the programme. The programme which is held at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) was designed to afford black female Entrepreneurs in the ICT sector a scholarship opportunity to expand their knowledge in business operations.

The Innovator Trust CEO, Tashline Jooste says: “We are committed to creating an environment of opportunity for SMME’s and their employees, and we are thrilled to align ourselves with such an invaluable like-minded group as GIBS to present  black female entrepreneurs with an opportunity to develop them for the ICT sector as a whole”.

The programme recruits ICT female SMME’s to participate in a 13 month Programme for Management Development. This is a scholarship opportunity which is specifically focused on business and general management. This is achieved through a number of support and skills activities, such as training, mentorship and development programmes.

“Our aim is to develop competent SMMEs with the requisite business management skills to contribute to the growth of the sector. As a sustainable and growing initiative, we are confident that the Academic Enterprise Development Programme will make a meaningful contribution towards accelerating ICT leaders of the future,” concludes Jooste.
